ECONOMIC AND JOBS

Heritage Development - Tourism and Community Development
This program focuses on the untapped potential that exists in many African-American, Latino and Asian neighborhoods in the form of local history and heritage, artistic expressions from jazz clubs to murals and ethnic food, and demonstrates how these resources can contribute to community pride and generate economic vitality through tourism.

Arts Edge II
In 1985, Partners held the highly successful conference "Arts Edge" in Pittsburgh, PA. This conference not only helped change the image of Pittsburgh from a gritty city to a center of culture, but also demonstrated the value of cultural resources to the economic development of cities. Partners is planning "Arts Edge II" that will focus on metropolitan cultural strategies in today’s technology-based society.

Neighborhood Economic Development
A joint program of Partners and the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation explores culture as an economic development strategy for job creation and micro enterprise development at the neighborhood level.

The Arts and Workforce Development
Partners’ Arts in the Life of the City program demonstrates the use of arts and culture for workforce development that can help make a community competitive in today’s knowledge-based economy.
