Partners is promoting metropolitan and regional financial strategies
for supporting the arts and culture as a component of quality
of life and creativity development. Globally competitive regions
need to develop innovative funding strategies to support the
arts as an economic investment in their communities. For instance,
Kansas City’s bi-state tax initiative collected a one-eight-penny
tax from counties in two states to pay of the renovation of
Kansas City’s historic Union Station, a tourist draw for
the region. |
