Public Markets enhance the potential for social integration in public spaces because they attract people from diverse economic, social, racial and ethnic backgrounds. Partners is working with the Ford Foundation and Project for Public Spaces on a program that focuses on the public market as a stimulus for economic development, upward mobility and civic pride in low-income communities.
